The Fashion Undateables

House of Fraser are currently running a competition to style one of their 'undateable' men for a date with their ideal match.. and hopefully if the date goes well to become 'the one'!!

With this in mind i chose my undateable, headed straight for the menswear section on the House of Fraser website and got my styling on ..

House of Fraser presented us bloggers with two choices in the form of the above tinder-esque dating profiles.. I mean, I'm not being harsh but Melvin was totally worthy of a swipe left.. until i styled him obviously!! I went for Melvin for the simple fact that he said he was looking for a date that doesn't take themselves to seriously and thought this would be the perfect person to style for a day date at the Zoo!

Yup, you heard me.. the Zoo! I personally find any kind of day date is a better way to get to know someone then sitting in a stuffy restaurant trying to make conversation. Speaking from my own dating experience.. my first date with my boyfriend of 4 and a half years was to Colchester Zoo and we literally had the best time. There was so much to do and there was never any awkward silences.. One of our favourite moments was when a couple of penguins decided to start mating in front of us!

For a date at the Zoo i wanted to style Melvin in a comfortable, casual look which was stylish but also effortless. I think i have managed to capture this in the above look!

I decided first of all that i wanted a nice pair of designer jeans to set the look. I did however want them to look a little worn and distressed so picked out a pair of Levi indigo vintage slim fit jeans which did the job pretty well!! I then paired these with a crisp white penguin t-shirt.. I literally love the adorable little penguin stitched on to this tee and thought it fitted well with the Zoo theme! Instead of a jacket i went for an over-sized Jack and Jones flannel shirt in red and grey.. then moving to the feet i went for a classic and very comfy pair of white converse!

I then picked out a few accessories.. I wanted to pair and match the accesories together by keeping the brown colour a running theme through this outfit. Therefor i picked out a brown Tommy Hilfiger belt, brown strapped Michael Kors Military watch and finally pulled it all together with a pair of tortoiseshell Ray Bans -  I think accessories really make an outfit and smarten up a casual look instantly!

I've also added two extra random items in the above image the first being the babyliss beard trimmer as Melvin's beard was looking a little scruffy. I'm all for a bit of stubble, but i hate scruffy long beards! Lastly and not least I've picked out a favourite scent of mine which is Chanel Blue.. i mean, who doesn't love a man wearing a fancy aftershave?

I hope you enjoyed this slightly different post today, what would be your favourite place to go on a date?
