Candles with Partylite

I didn't know much about Partylite to begin with, but my Mum seemed to know about them and being the candle addict i am i was very happy to receive this package on a rainy Friday afternoon. As the days are getting shorter and your pulling out your big knitted jumpers and fluffy socks, the first thing i like to do when i get home from work is to start burning a deliciously scented winter smelling candle - whether it be in my bedroom or bathroom you can always find one burning around my house! When i first received this parcel me and my work colleague could smell it through the box all afternoon, i was so excited to get it home and find out what goodies where inside!

Forbidden Fantasy* - Set of three candles £27.50

This set of three candles comes quite plainly packaged but don't let their appearance turn you away. These single wick candles have some really gorgeous scents as well as burning really well - i left it burning for about 2 hours that evening and it didn't really leave a dent. The good thing about how simple the packaging of these jars are is that they will pretty much go with any decor and could be easily moved around the house fitting in with a wide range of interiors.

Included in this range are 'Blush' which is a mixture of white grapefruit, violet, musk and rosewood.. Out of the three candles this is by far the lightest, freshest and most feminine giving of strong yet delicate citrus and floral scents.

'Flush' which is white florals, fruits and musk.. this is by far my favourite out of the set, the fruit and musk combined work really well and smell like a cinnamon roll.. perfect for long dark autumn evenings and a great one to pop on in the kitchen to cover up any foodie smells.

'Kiss' which is light and floral with a mixture of amber and wood pretty much reminds me of men's aftershave and not in a bad overpowering way. The wood and amber work really well together combining to make a musky scent - i imagine this is popular amongst boyfriends / husband's as most complain about the smell of girly candles!

Just Desserts* - set of two candles for £15.95

The second thing i pulled out the box after having a little rummage around was this adorable set of two candles. The packaging is completely different to the very basic forbidden fantasy range and it instantly caught my eye. I was also really excited to have a sniff as I'm really into foodie candles (some of my favourite's include - vanilla butter cream and red velvet by Yankee Candle) Being a girl, loving all things pretty i was intrigued to open up the box and see what was inside..

The two candles included are 'Nutcracker Sweet' which smells of cinnamon, mulled wine, vanilla and nutmeg.. this is quite a nutty Christmassy smell and would only probably be used at this time of the year.. whilst 'Sugarplum Fairies' is kind of the opposite smelling of cranberries, plums and pomegranate. Both luxurious smelling candles and perfect for the winter season!

I'm also a huge fan of the sweet little nutcrackers which decorate the outside of the glass jars making them the perfect little gift for Christmas!

Warm Hearts Tealight Holder* - £13.95 per holder

I love tealight holders, they are so handy if you just want to make a space look pretty and at Christmas our house is normally full of them. This one in particular is one the prettiest i have seen, with it's antique finish the light manages to escape through the little holes/scratches in the silver paint making the room light up and look really special. What i also really like about this product is that it has a little dip inside for the tealight to sit, almost like it's giving it a little cuddle whilst it burns away!

Make sure you check out the Partylite website as they have some fantastic gifts for Christmas! I know for sure I'll be popping a few of these on my wish list!

TRAVEL PHOTO DIARY | Lake District

First things first... (I'm the realist..ahem) If you don't follow me on Twitter (and you really should be!!) then you won't know that last week me and my boyf went on a little 9 day adventure to the Lake District and Scotland.. We fancied doing a little travelling around the UK with our walking boots and bikes and the first stop was Windermere in the Lake District. We have been here before but it's almost half way to Scotland and we love the walks and view around this area, so decided to pick a B&B and stay for a few days before we moved on to Scotland.

Although this is a photo diary post with a few of my favourite snaps from the first couple of days i just wanted to mention the first B & B we stayed in. We have stayed in the Lake District on many occasions in both B & B's and also self accommodating, however we found this to be the best B & B in Windermere and the surrounding area. The Hawksmoor was perfectly situated between Windermere and Bowness on Windermere making it a really great base point for not only walking but also going out for dinner and having a few drinks! Hawksmoor is run by a lovely lady named Philippa who was nothing but helpful from the moment we arrived, providing us with maps for walking and a delicious breakfast! I would highly recommend this B & B if your in the area, it was also very reasonably priced for Windermere which can be expensive in places.

Hope you enjoyed a few snaps from our first stop! Make sure you look out for my next post from our Scotland adventure!

August Favourites

One of my favourite posts throughout the month is monthly favourites, i love seeing what other bloggers rate honestly and what they have been loving, so here's mine (on time for once!)

First up is the Kiss Cosmetics Scrub Stick. This was actually one of the products i picked up at IMATS 2015 from their booth, i had heard of Kiss Cosmetics previously due to being part of the blogger forum, i was excited to see them there (as they are quite a new company) and i had also been looking for  a lip scrub similar to this one for a while. I have really dry lips most of the year and this has sorted them right out. This product combines sugar and balm meaning that after you have exfoliated it also moisturises! I would 100% recommend this, they RRP at £6.50.

Next up are two of the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polishes, the green on the right is the shade 'Cardamon' and the brown shade on the left is 'Cocoa' i actually bought these last year during the winter season but i love these colours, i think they are the perfect shade to use in the autumn and the hi-shine polishes by Barry M have always been a favourite of mine, i think they are super long lasting and they give a really nice salon-esque finish.

Next is the freedom palette by Inglot, this is another product that i picked up from IMATS 2015. These freedom palettes are quite similar to the KIKO clic palettes which i have previously reviewed, you pick how many empty spaces you want, then you pick your shadows to go in. I picked up 397 on the left and 154 on the right, these colours actually go perfectly together which was completely unintentional when i was picking them out. The pigmentation in these is insane.. 397 is a lighter rose colour and 154 is a darker goldy colour. I normally pop 397 all over my lid and then blend 154 into the crease. The product stays on all day and there's no fall out, I'm loving these so much I'm considering expanding my Inglot collection. I also always get compliments on the shades!

Next is the Insta natural age defying skin clearing serum*.. erm... hello my new go to spot treatment! This product is an absolute dream. I have been having really bad breakouts throughout the year and have just started using this product.. at first i was a little dubious to putting a serum on my face, however I'm so glad i did as I've really started to notice a difference.  Not only does this clear the skin it also balances out scaring and any uneven skin tones, it's full of fantastic ingredients including Vitamin C and Salicylic Acid. I've loved using this in my daily skin routine at night.. and would highly recommend it.. it also smells like oranges which is very refreshing!

And last but not least is an oldie but a real goodie - The sleek blush in 'rose gold'. When i found this shoved to the back of my MUJI storage draws i instantly remembered how much of a gorgeous tone this is and how much it compliments my pale complexion. As the days have been getting darker and colder i have been reaching for this nearly everyday, the pigmentation is amazing for such a reasonable priced product and i love the gold flecks baked into the rose colour. I also find i don't use highlight when wearing this as the gold flecks do that for me. These blushes are so cheap for what they are and they have them in a few different shades!

What have been your august favourites this month, let me know in the comments so i can try them!
