FAVOURITES | June

Hey Guys!

It's that time of the month again when I share with you lovely lot my monthly favourites. I know I always blab on about how much this is my favourite post to write and read, but It really is! I get most of my product recommendations from these kind of posts, so I hope you enjoy my June fave's and potentially go out and buy a few of the bits!

June Monthly Favourites

Superdrug Vitamin E SPF15 Moisturising Cream | £2.99

I've been really enjoying experimenting with different facial skin care routines over the past couple of months, as I've said in a few other blog's I've never really found the perfect combination of skincare. This though, will stick firmly in my skin care routine as it's proved to be an absolute life saver time and time again. I really love the way this product feels and sinks into my skin, it doesn't make my make-up slide even with a light foundation over the top. I felt it really nourished my sun burned forehead on holiday so that's a huge plus too! This is also a fantastic dupe for the Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser at only a fraction of the price - so if your on a budget 100% check out Superdrugs Vitamin E range.

Burts Bees Facial Cleanser | £10.00

As i said above, I've really been enjoying experimenting with different skin products and feel over the last two months I've drawn back from buying make-up and spent a bit more time and effort on skincare! I really love cream cleansers, but hate when they dry out your skin. This natural cream cleanser nourishes without stripping your skin, it has a thick consistency and works great with a hot cloth cleanser. It gently breaks down all make-up, even waterproof mascara! The only thing about this product that i would improve was to potentially give it a scent, it has no scent which almost makes it not feel as luxurious as some other products I've used.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation | £10.99

I have been wearing the same foundation (not literally, that would be rank!) for about 4 years and i still love the Estee Lauder double wear light. However, i recently entered the tanning world, tanned my face and then had a mild heart attack when i realised my foundation didn't match my skin. That's when i picked this product up on a whim and i am SO glad i did. It's described as a light weight gel foundation which has really seemed to suit my skin, it doesn't feel cakey and it gives a lovely natural glow. I like to apply this with my damp beauty blender and find it blends like a dream - this is a fab holiday foundation as i feel it's in between a foundation and cc cream so sits really well in hot weather.

Barry M Daylight Curing | £4.99 per bottle

Just before holiday i picked up two new Barry M daylight curing polishes, i really like the formula of these as they last a little longer than a normal polish and give the effect of shellac without a nail salon lamp! I'd say the colour on my nails lasted around 7 days and the one on my toes just over 2 weeks. The two above are 'fuchsia generation' which is the gorgeous darker pink colour and 'peach for the stars' which is a coral colour. These are often on special offer in both boots and superdrug!

I have just got back from Mexico, where I spent two weeks sitting in the pool sipping cocktails.. sighhhh. On the other hand i was worried the chlorine would damage my bleached hair a little, so in order to attempt to protect it i pumped in a pea sized amount of this elixir every night after my hair wash. It left my hair feeling soft and re-vitalised and not to mentioned insanely blonde. A little goes a long way and the formula includes sunflower and argon oil. It doesn't leave you hair greasy or weighed down like some over oils, in my eyes this is a strong 10 out of 10.

Have you tried any of the above products? What have your June fave's been?!

SMILE, with Janina!

Hey Guys!

I don't know about you, but in the words of Buddy the elf 'I just like to Smile, Smiling is my favourite' so i do tend to get a little disheartened when my teeth are looking a little discoloured, i know this is 100% my own fault as i like all the obvious stainers including red wine, coffee and fizzy drinks (and i used to be a smoker, naughty!). I was lucky enough to be sent both the Janina White Ultra white extra strength toothpaste* the the Janina Maxi white whitening strips* - both have worked an absolute TREAT!

I have tried a few different whitening products in the past but have always come across two problems;
1) The way some whitening products feel they are stripping the enamel off your teeth leaving them incredibly sensitive.
2) The horrendous bi carb taste which leaves you feeling like you haven't even brushed your teeth that some products also contain.

Luckily with the two Janina products i have trialled over the last 3 weeks, i didn't encounter either of these problems. The ultra strength toothpaste contains a combination of natural enzymes which include Bromelaine from Pineapple and Papain from Papaya, these whiten teeth without the use of harsh abrasives which causes the painful sensitive feeling you get with other products. They have 4 different products in their toothpaste range including - Enamel repair, Sensitive, Super Strength and Ultra Strength (so there is a product for everyone!) I have been using this for 3 weeks with my electric toothbrush and find removed surface stains incredibly quick, it tastes like any other toothpaste (minty and fresh) and does not have the horrible bi carb taste. I really like the way it has smoothed and protected my teeth as well as whitening, the above tube retails for £11.50 at boots

Moving on to the Whitening strips, these are an absolute god send! They are fantastic and by the far the best strips I've used to date. You can either use them twice a day for 7 days for quick results or if you don't have the time once a day for 14 days - if i'm being 100% honest i've never used them every day as i simply forget or don't have the time! I normally use them every other day and notice a huge improvement every time i use them. They are hyrdogen -peroxide free so don't damage your teeth and again don't leave them feeling sensitive once removed. Inside the pack they have two strips, you dry your teeth and then pop on your front top and bottom row of teeth, once you've placed the strips on your teeth and waited for 30 minutes you just remove! They are completely hassle and mess free and you can see results almost instantly. The box contains 14 strips and are £19.95 from Boots UK - a great price for a product that actually whitens and protects!

I know I'm a few days late to this, but between the 16th of May and the 16th of June was National Smile Month - this campaign is to create awareness of good oral hygiene. Even though i missed this, i think oral hygiene is incredibly important so it should be National Smile month all year round! My top tips would be to brush twice a day, floss once a day, avoid sugary drinks and visit a dentist every 6 months!

Have you tried any of the Janina products, which ones did you like?
