KAT VON D | Shade & Light Palette Review

Hey Guys!

If you didn't already know I went to Mexico last month and to my absolute delight.. and some serious google searching I found that the nearest town Playa Del Carmen had a haaauge Sephora! I was so determined to find it, it took two trips to Playa Del Carmen in 35 degree (If that isn't dedication then I'm not sure what is!). Whilst I was there I treated myself to something that I have wanted for quite some time. The reason I had never splurged out on this product is that it's currently exclusive to the USA and Sephora.. However, a week or so ago Kat Von D FINALLY announced she was bringing her range to Debenhams across the UK which is so exciting!

A few of my favourite Youtubers including Nikkie Tutorials and Jeffree Star (awkward, maybe he won't be using Kat's products anymore after the drama?!) always rock this shade & light palette when contouring and highlighting. I've never been able to find a palette which is suitable for my pale complexion, when I saw this had 6 different shades suitable for all skin tones I was incredibly excited to try it out and share my views with you lovely lot. I know some of the shades in the palette will be too dark for my skin - but Glam Life Gu
ru Tati suggests in this YouTube video to wear them as a lid colour if they are no go for contouring instead.

First of all the packaging in true Kat Von D is truly gothic and beautifully designed. It has
solid black matte encasement with large pans and a huge mirror. The palette contains three large shades of contour paired with three smaller highlighters, they are all 100% matte with no sparkle or shimmer, making them the perfect sculpting powders.

Each pan is super pigmented as you can see from my swatch below, being so pigmented I would be careful when using and in fact would advise to start with a little and build up the product, which is incredibly easy to do. The texture of the powders is incredibly smooth and blend able but it does also have a little powderiness - this however has never been an issue when using, I simply tap off my brush before application! I find it very easy to work with and if I do go a little heavy on the contour I can blend it out very easily with my beauty blender.

An added bonus to this is Kat's unique and beautiful drawings which show you exactly how
to define cheekbones, slim down the face and shape the nose in a step by step guide on how to use. And if your still confused make your way onto YouTube and search through the hundreds of amazing reviews and tutorials on how to use. My favourite combination is actually sombre and lucid, so the two palest colours out of the pan. This palette is so versatile that fair to dark skin tones can use and as I mentioned above, if it's to dark pop it on your lid and create a dramatic eye with it!

Overall I loved this palette and I'm looking forward to welcoming more Kat Von D products to my make-up collection.

Have you ever tried any of Kat Von D's products? Which is your favourite?!

DAYS OUT | Mayfield Lavender Farm

Outfit:
Dress: Tesco F & F from 2015 range - £12.00
Shoes: Primark  - £3.00
Sunglasses: Quay Australia - My Girl Exclusive White Marble - £30.00

Hey Everyone!

My most loved thing to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon is explore a new place in the UK and go for a little adventure, i think we nailed it this week when we stumbled across the stunning Mayfield Lavender Farm. This incredible gem is located in Banstead and is a 25 acre lavender farm which has been organically grown for 10 years. It is one of the most stunning and picturesque places i have seen, the lavender smells incredible and i can't believe we haven't found it sooner! Beware though, it is CRAZY busy we didn't even end up parking in their own car park as it looked like murder - i would 100% try and visit during the week, whilst the lavender is in bloom they are currently open 7 days a week (apparently the best time to go is between July - August). You pay £1 on your arrival and then you a free to roam around and snap as many photos as you want. They even have a little shop and cafe if you want to have a browse and refuel. The gifts in the shop are all lavender based and they sell bunches of hand tied lavender for only £4! All in all a great little stroll in the countryside..

What's your favourite thing to do on a Sunday?!

IMPERIAL LEATHER | Sweets & Fruits Review

Hey Guys!

Who doesn't love a good shower? And with these gorgeous products from Imperial Leather they make my Shower time a little bit sweeter in the morning! I have talked about Imperial Leather products in a few monthly favourites and also gave away a bottle of my favourite body wash the lychee, peony and jasmine in my 1,000 followers giveaway. When Imperial Leather got in contact i jumped at the chance to try some of their new products from the Sweet & Fruits range. I was lucky enough to try out the following;

Fruit Chew Shower Cream*
I'm going to start with my favourite out of the bunch, this fruit chew shower cream. This literally takes me back to my childhood and smells like lolly drumsticks. This sweet scent is ideal first thing in the morning and gives me the pick me up i need before a busy day at work! The scent lingers on my skin and leaves me feeling nourished and moisturised. The scent is sweet, but not overwhelming so i really enjoyed using this one!

Foamy Banana Shower Cream*
When I first posted a picture of this on Instagram the amount of people that said 'that sounds horrible' was crazy! It smells just like banana foam sweets, i was nervous to use it at first because sometimes the banana smell can be overwhelming - this however has a really lovely smell. Although, it's not my favourite and out of choice i wouldn't pick it up again, i do like it! As i mentioned above, this is another shower cream so leaves you feeling so soft and hydrated!

Raspberry & Pomegranate Shower Gel*
This one instantly jumped out to me, in contrast to the sweet smells above when it comes down to it I'm definitely a fruit scent kinda gal and i would 100% pick this up again. The refreshing scent works very well in the summer. Being a gel it doesn't leave me quite as moisturised as the creams, however in no way does it dry my skin out or leave that nasty 'squeaky' feeling.

All of the above foam up so nicely with a loafer and a little goes a long way! All three of these products are a huge hit with me and i will carry on purchases and using Imperial Leather products. Most of the above are about £1 per bottle and keep be purchased from boots (you can see the full range here)

What's your favourite Imperial Leather product?

TRAVEL | Berlin

Hey Everyone!

Now, this is a bit of a random post which was from my little 3 day mini trip to Berlin back in January. I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and it's safe to say he LOVED it!
We managed to pack in a lot in those 72 hours and arrived at Schonefeld Airport around 12.05pm on the Saturday. I had actually pre-booked the Berlin welcome card which allows you to travel within zones ABC of Berlin (a bit like a London travel card) they cost about £20 each and you can purchase them here (well recommended and 100% worth the money!). We used the transport everyday, it's SO easy and very realiable - it also saves you from booking airport transfers as it takes you directly from the airport into the city centre.

We stayed at the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt this was next to the main station in Berlin Hofbanhof - this hotel was in the perfect location a 2 minute walk from the train station and about a 10 minute walk from the Reichstag building. The 5* hotel had incredible customer service and the rooms where massive, they even had a spa at the top of the hotel with a lovely steam room and chill out area - we honestly had a really fantastic stay! I'm sad i have no photos to show you, but the photos on the website are exactly what it's like!

A few (and not all...) of our favourite places where

Bradenburg Gate
Probably after the wall one of Berlins most famous monuments and one that i wanted to check off on my list of things to see first. The gate was a symbol of Berlin and German division during the Cold War and is now a national symbol of peace and unity. The gate never closes and you can visit night or day, i would probably advise either early morning or late night as it's less crowded and you can get a better picture.
